Canada Invites French-Speaking Immigrants in a New Round of Express Entry Draw

In the fourth Express Entry draw of May 2026 held on May 28th IRCC has invited 4,500 candidates with French-language proficiency to apply for permanent residency. Candidates who had at least a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 409 and had submitted their Express Entry profiles before 10:20 p.m UTC on April 29, 2026, qualified for the draw.

It is the 30th Express Entry draw of 2026 and the 6th French Language Proficiency draw of 2026. The French language proficiency draws focus on attracting immigrants who are French-speaking outside Quebec to strengthen the bilingual communities and address labour shortages. The continued draws in the category will create PR opportunities for applicants with strong language proficiency and competitive CRS scores.

IRCC, in 2026 so far, has invited 79,841 candidates through different draw types. The different draw types held in 2026 included Provincial Nominee Program, Canadian Experience Class, French-language proficiency, healthcare and social services, and trades draws. The draws are part of the long-term immigration targets and economic growth.
