French speaking students who want to build their future in Canada have another opportunity to build their future in the country through the Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP). Eligible students from 33 countries can study at participating post-secondary institutions outside Quebec and potentially qualify for a direct pathway to permanent residence after graduation.
The intake opened on August 26, 2026, and applications will remain open until August 25, 2027, or until the available quota is reached. Applicants generally need French-language proficiency of at least NCLC 5 and must enrol in an eligible full-time program delivered primarily in French.
The program is to strengthen Francophone communities across Canada. Eligible graduates may have an opportunity to apply for permanent residence after completing their studies. The pathway offers an attractive option for French-speaking students seeking to study, work and settle in Canada.
