The invitations targeted skilled workers in priority sectors, including healthcare, aviation, technology, tourism and hospitality workers aligned with Alberta's labour market needs.

The largest number of candidates were invited through the Alberta Opportunity Stream (720 invitations), while other invitations were issued through Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Non-Express Entry (75 invitations issued); Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Aviation and Skilled Trades) (35 invitations issued); Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry (46 invitations issued); Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway (100 invitations issued); and Tourism and Hospitality Stream (61 invitations issued).

According to the provincial government, Alberta had used 3,261 of its 6,403 federal nomination allocations for 2026 by the end of June. The targeted approach is to attract skilled workers in in-demand sectors to support the province's economic growth and long-term workforce needs.
