Manitoba Targets Childcare, Education, and Healthcare Workers in Latest Provincial Draw

Workers in Manitoba’s childcare, education and healthcare sectors have received 257 invitations to apply for provincial nomination. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued the invitations in a draw held on October 8, 2026.

Education and childcare workers received most of the invitations, with 211 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued. Eligible occupations included early childhood educators and assistants, teacher assistants, kindergarten and elementary school teachers, and secondary school teachers. Another 46 invitations went to healthcare workers. Only candidates already working in Manitoba in these occupations were eligible.

The province issued 340 invitations in total, including 83 under its strategic recruitment initiatives. Manitoba did not publish cut-off scores for this draw.

Candidates who received an invitation must submit a complete nomination application within 60 days. A provincial nomination is an important step toward Canadian permanent residence. Nominees may also be able to get support to stay and work in Canada while their application is processed.

The draw shows Manitoba’s ongoing focus on keeping skilled workers in sectors facing labor shortages. Temporary workers in these fields may want to keep their Expression of Interest profiles current to stay ready for future draws.
