Newfoundland and Labrador has invited 122 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The August 18, 2026 draw invited candidates through the province’s immigration selection system, which is designed to identify candidates who can contribute to local workforce needs.
Candidates selected through the provincial program generally need a valid job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador, except for applicants under the province’s entrepreneur streams. The latest draw follows another selection round earlier in August, highlighting the province’s continued use of its immigration programs to attract skilled workers and support employers facing labor shortages.
This was the province’s first immigration draw since it introduced the Expression of Interest (EOI) system in February 2025, with all invitations issued through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP).
