ONTARIO IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM
OINP PROGRAMS
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) helps the province to meet its labour market demands and economic development requirements. Under the program, Ontario nominates candidates with the skills and experience required by the Ontario labour market for permanent residence. It also helps employers to recruit and retain foreign workers.
Human Capital Priorities:
This Express Entry-aligned program is an invitation-only one. To be eligible, you have to be a skilled worker with an active Express Entry profile and willing to live and work permanently in Ontario. You cannot apply directly to the stream but have to receive a Notification of Interest from Ontario.
French-speaking Skilled Worker:
This Express Entry-aligned program is also by invitation only. It demands the candidates be French-speaking skilled workers with strong English language abilities. They must also be willing to live and work permanently in Ontario. You cannot directly apply to the program but have to receive a Notification of Interest from Ontario to be eligible.
Skilled Trades:
The Express Entry-aligned Skilled Trades stream requires the candidate to have skilled work experience in an eligible occupation. They must also meet the eligibility criteria for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). You cannot apply directly to the stream but have to receive a Notification of Interest from Ontario to be eligible.
Masters Graduates:
You can apply for provincial nomination under this stream if you are an international Master’s graduate willing to live and work permanently in Ontario. You need not have a job offer to be eligible.
Ph.D. graduates:
To be eligible, you need to be an international Ph.D. graduate willing to live and work permanently in Ontario. A job offer is not necessary to apply.
EMPLOYER JOB OFFER
FOREIGN WORKERS
To be eligible, you must have received a valid job offer from a qualified employer in Ontario or from a business making an approved and endorsed investment in the province. You must also be willing to live and work in Ontario permanently.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WITH A JOB OFFER
If you are an international student who has obtained a valid job offer for an indeterminate length from an eligible Ontario employer or a business making an approved and endorsed investment in Ontario, you are eligible under this stream. You must also be willing to live and work in Ontario permanently.
IN-DEMAND SKILLS
If you have a valid job offer from an eligible Ontario employer in an eligible in-demand occupation, you can apply under this stream. Besides, you must have a minimum of 12 months of experience in the said occupation in Ontario and must be willing to live and work in Ontario permanently.
BUSINESS
CORPORATE:
To be eligible, you must be the key employee of an established international corporation that has expanded its operations to Ontario or bought an existing business in the province. The company must also nominate you.
ENTREPRENEUR:
If you are planning to implement a new business idea or buy an existing business in Ontario, you can apply under this stream.
