Canada welcomes entrepreneurs to start small businesses and startups in the country. Canada’s entrepreneur programs aim to be mutually beneficial for both the entrepreneurs and the Canadian economy. While Canada helps the entrepreneurs grow their business, the entrepreneurs can contribute towards the growth of the Canadian economy by creating jobs for its citizens and permanent residents.
Federal Startup Visa
Business entrepreneurs can obtain Canadian Startup Visa and grow their companies with the funding and expertise of approved Canadian private sector organizations. In order to get a Startup Visa, the applicants need not invest any capital. But they must receive minimum venture capital or angel investment from one or multiple designated organizations.
Quebec Entrepreneur Program
To be eligible to obtain a Quebec Entrepreneur Visa, the applicant must be an experienced business person or manager with an intermediate level proficiency in French. The applicant must create or acquire a business in Quebec.
Provincial Nominee Programs
Some Canadian provinces have their own entrepreneur streams to nominate applicants for permanent residence. The candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements of the respective province and manage a business within that particular province.
